Add your chosen Personal History and the companion to the cart together. The companion cannot be purchased on its own.

Two different kinds of audio

Included narration: a reading of the finished written history, supplied with every Personal History.

Optional interview: the interviewee’s actual recorded voice, lightly edited and transcribed. Their wording and meaning are preserved.

What you receive

How it works

  1. Choose your history and add the companion

Purchase both in the same order. The interview stays attached to that history’s private project.

  2. Record with permission

You conduct and record the interview. Use a quiet room and the question guide. Confirm the interviewee’s permission before recording, editing, transcription, and private sharing. Choose the private recipients and passages to exclude.

  3. Upload through the private intake

Supply MP3 or M4A files, up to 60 MB each and no more than 30 minutes total. Recordings count toward the project’s twelve customer uploads. Eftsona checks recording length and usability before work begins.

  4. Review together before delivery

The interviewee reviews the edited MP3 and transcript. Submit one consolidated correction request or record the separate interview approval. Approval of the written history does not approve the interview.

Before you commission

Allow up to 3 days after the complete, usable recording and required permissions arrive. Review and approval time affects final delivery.

This service preserves recorded speech. It does not recreate missing speech or imitate a voice. Extensive restoration, additional interviewees, longer recordings, and public distribution require separately agreed scope and permissions.
